MY READINGS
Weiner’s Creativity, the West history
From the discussions of Weiner (2000) on creativity, it is summarized that the creativity has evolved through dynamic changes and long traditions to make the human lives better, the form of living people lead more creative through inventions and new changes. The human history can be seen as the history of creativity that recognizes the importance of creativity in shaping their lives, their way of living as no past society, old traditions or customs exist for the long-term in the modern times. The early human creativity has ensured for influencing the civilization, like the inventions in the music, architectures, agriculture, writing, ceramics, wheels, and in other sectors where new inventions took place that surpassed the past inventions of the former discoverers. The inventions and techniques have spread more widely and easily because of the creative ideas, innovations, and advanced technologies that have gone beyond the scientific facts or conceptual reasons. Many creators have done excellent jobs, but some of those failed to sustain because of not creative efforts by them (Weiner, 2000).
There are several examples that show that the intelligent and talented people or powerful groups of people who have not been able to sustain in the society with their discoveries or experiments, because of lack of creativity. Africans sculptures were known for artistic work, Spanish invaders for the rubber balls, Europeans for the rubber invention after three hundred years. The Western culture relates to the culture of Western Europe, North America (e.g. Canada), the United States, and moreover, in Australia and New Zealand. Western culture of people refers to different categories of people in the realm of politics, economics, technology, psychology, physiology, art, and others. The capitalism, Christianity, representative democracy, scientific methods, and historical changes differentiate the western culture from the Chinese culture that may because of creativity to some extent (Weiner, 2005).
( 1997) Ideas on Active Imagination
Jung’s Ideas represent the natural healing functions of the active imagination. The therapeutic methods of Jung had different names, in some conditions; it was referred as transcendent function, other names were active fantasy and active fantasying, visioning, dancing, dialectic method, differentiation technique, intervention technique, introspection technique, descent techniques, and others. The active imagination of Jung is based on the image producing the function of the psyche. Both dynamic function and transcendent function represent the complex psychic functions of imagination and combine both unconscious and conscious elements. While speaking on fantasy, play, and imagination, the spirits of Jung are soared. His early development of play anticipates the later developments in the method therapeutic mainstream. Fantasy, the great joy of play, and the imagination lead to free to imagine anything or utterly spontaneous. In the state of active imagination, there is nothing unthinkable or unimaginable (Jung 1997).
The active imagination creates opportunities for the creative ideas for imagining something in the way, like what to do, how to make better, how to make opportunistic for exploiting the opportunities. Jung suggests that the visual image of anything may lead to creative ideas because it appears to support the imagination from the emotionally disturbed states. The emotional state through the conscious mood is the starting procedure of the active imagination that also supports the fantasies to be allowed in the freest way as possible. Another procedure is choosing the image, visual picture, dream, or vision in the mindset and concentrating on these for visualizing the imagination of imaginer.
The active imagination takes place from the internal state of mind, like intrinsic motivation, dreams, thinking ideas, visual or audio files or images that are given a form through writing, dancing, sculpturing, painting, drawing or other ways. The active imagination is only the way to implement the things by creating a picture of the image of the things that anybody or imaginer wants to do (Jung, 1997)
Ekrich (2005) atE Day’s dose– Night in Times Past
From the discussions and studies of these articles, it can be summarized that at present the ghosts or witches make the presence rarely in the mindsets of the people. Since after the beginning of the 18th century, the night times or things at nights, like ghosts, witches, or other deadly or frightful situations that are fearful, now have changed dramatically because of the people not strongly believe in these things and moreover, most of the people do not consider the night things of the part in their lives.
According to this article of Ekrich (2005), the Regime of the nights has been dramatically changed over the years. Before the eighteen century, the nocturnal things in the night season that were considered horrible and dreadful are denoting the horribleness of the nocturnal hours. Nowadays, after the 20th century, there has been huge decline in the twist of the magical or horrible nights because the people, like artists, actors, travellers, poets, or others enjoy their nights while working at nights, like shootings by the actors/ actress in the horrible or deadly nights because of their no fears from the night things or nocturnal sounds, creatures, or other horrible night things (Ekrich, 2005). The night times also make no differences in the educational circles in which the students are more likely to study mostly in the night times of the days without any fear of the nocturnal things that has been past.
The night times for most of the urban households now have become less menacing. The darkness of the nights which has been formerly a source of fear, now has the less scope of terror because the people who were used to sleep early at night from the fear of terror and horrible things, now a different situation in the present times in which the people whether artists, students, households, or tourists enjoy the nights in their working professionally, spending time in visiting the dangerous or horrible places, or chatting with friends on the social media till the late night without any fear of the night times (Ekrich, 2005).
Summary on Csikszentmihalyi’s (1999) Creative Personality: Psychology
This article summarizes that a person is needed to be internalized the entire system for making the creative personality as possible. Csikszentmihalyi’s (1999) argues that the creative personality depends upon the psychology or internal state of mind of a person that might lead to the development of creative ideas, imagine new things, and inventing something new. The good sense of curiosity, active interests, wonder, intrinsic motivation, and creative environment are important attributes for having a creative personality. The open culture for the openness of ideas, learning environment for learning something new, experiments and creative thinking, and psychology of the people (whether businessman, student, employees or others) affect the creative personality of the human beings for their abilities to think new ideas, develop new strategies, create/ discover new things, or improve their performances through the strong mindsets and active interests of the people (Csikszentmihalyi’s, 1999).
The creative personality people reflect more expressions, active interests, concentrated with creative ideas, and new inventions with a full range of traits or internal characteristics of an individuals’ personality for being more competitive and play active roles in doing things better, presenting quality service, or influence others with creative personality and strong mindsets. From the discussions of this article, it can also be summarized that the people with creative personality seems to have more energy for their more working capabilities to perform better by thinking new ways of performing better, for the superior achievement or extraordinary performances (Csikszentmihalyi’s, 1999). The creative personality makes the people internally/ mentally strong from their cognitive development to learn new things better, adjust in new conditions or with others, always keep thinking about to perform better or lead despite the rivalry or competitiveness. The creative people also seem to think creative solution or innovative ideas that may be helpful in their career development and growth by concentrating on achieving the goals and objectives.
